Between working & college, I grew into my many roles as a holistic wellness practitioner through studying various healing modalities. This, along with my work experience, has made it so you receive the perfect support to bring into the home. I'm looking forward to being of service.

As a natural at helping families adjust to life with a newborn, I have much experience tending to baby’s needs while also offering newborn education to parents. My enthusiasm for education and children came about in my early childhood years. As the oldest grandchild out of 6, I was always the leader in entertainment and care for my younger cousins. I loved playing “School” with them and coming up with fun arts and crafts activities. Much like what I do now!
In high school I was given the opportunity to start baby-sitting for my neighbors. It was during this time that I learned the importance of time management! Balancing work, afterschool activities, and grades, although tough, came naturally to me. I believe it was this time that prepared me for working in childcare as an adult.
As an adult I started working at daycare centers. I would also baby sit for many of the families. During the pandemic I decided the best option for me would be to become a nanny and work privately for families. Around this time is when I started to look for ways to advance my career. I investigated many things such as Breastfeeding Counselor and Doula work. Lucky for me my sister became pregnant at this time, and I was able to practice as I learned. One of my favorite moments on this journey was attending my niece’s birth! Since then, I have become a certified newborn care specialist and a doula. I am constantly looking for new ways to grow and more families to help.
I’m Sharnelle but feel free to call me Nellie! Through Bee The Doula, I provide childcare and currently am a doula in training as well. I received my Bachelors of Science in Health. I have always known I wanted to work with mothers and their children in some aspect pertaining to health. As more awareness is being brought to the topics of what women go through while pregnant, during labor/delivery, and postpartum it made me want to be of service. Women go through so much when giving birth that having physical and emotional support can make all the difference in your birthing experience. I want to be an advocate for many mothers during gestation and postpartum. I hope I can be of service to you and your new addition to the world!
